1 A report in the Westmorland Gazette (6th November 2025) states that the A590 between Newby Bridge and the Meathop roundabout will be closed from November 9th to December 5th between 8pm and 6am. This will affect the return journey following the Endmoor dance on the 28th November 2025.

In theory the B5279 turning to Lindale and beyond will be available at the Meathop roundabout so could be used to rejoin the A590 at Haverthwaite via Lindale, Grange over Sands, Allithwaite, FLookburgh and Cark in Cartmel. However, drivers should check the diversion signs when approaching Brettargh Holt in case it is necessary to divert via Windermere.

2 Work will be carried out on the M6 between Junctions 34 and 35 North and South from 15th September 2025 until the end of November 2025.

During this period one lane will be closed in both directions (24/7) to enable safety barrier repairs to be carried out, and a 50 mph speed limit will be in place. Please allow additional travel time during busy periods.
